This SCQF Level 5 and 6 course introduces students to Broadcast Media in radio and television. Practical and theory based learning in radio music programme production, presenting for both television and radio will offer a valuable insight into the demands of this multi-skilled industry. Students will learn in state-of-the art production, editing and radio broadcast suites and have the opportunity to broadcast from the College radio station (RadioActive).

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course provides an introduction to aspects of radio broadcasting and tv and film production, both on-air and behind-the-scenes. Using lecturers who also work in the industry, students will gain skills in the College's state-of-the-art studios. Students who have an interest in following a higher course of study in either Radio Broadcasting or TV and Film Production.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course is to be assessed on a continuous basis. There will be no end of the year examination. Students will be assessed by means of practical and theory based assessments including projects, essays, practical exercises, reports and assessment.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of this qualification students may apply for HNC Creative Industries: Radio or HND Creative Industries: Television.
