This course is for people with an interest in communication and media but who do not wish to specialise at this stage.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have two Higher qualifications (preferably including Higher English) or have successfully completed a non-advanced College course showing good achievement. Applicants should also show an interest in and aptitude for the subject.

For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry subject to availability.

Please note: Applicants should be aware that a laptop is required for this course.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This course is aimed at students who would like to gain a qualification in Communication with Media which will allow them to follow a career within related areas or undertake study at a higher level.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of essays, reports, presentations, case studies and practical projects. Most of the assessment of student work is undertaken by College staff.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Partnerships with several universities allow successful candidates to be considered for direct entry to years 2 or 3 of degree courses. Successful completion could allow entry to year 3 of the BA (Hons) Communication with Public Relations or BA (Hons) Media Studies at The Robert Gordon University via the 2+2 arrangement. Employment opportunities may include employment as trainee managers, departmental managers, administration or training assistants.
