This exciting new course is for those who wish to work at a managerial level within the events industry - a dynamic and rapidly expanding area which requires multi-skilled staff. In the first year you begin to develop a range of skills, from dealing with a huge variety of events to Budgeting, IT, Marketing and Legal Issues. This course provides a sound foundation to Events Management. This dynamic, specialist course provides training in areas such as entertainment, conferences, exhibitions, specialist events, festivals, marketing services, sponsorship, business planning and presentation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Typical applicants will be expected to have at least two Highers. Applicants should show an interest in and aptitude for the subject or have successfull completed a non-advanced College course having shown good achievement. For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry subject to availability.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

  • school leavers who have a desire to enter the various associated industries
  • candidates who wish to use it as a stepping-stone to related degree level courses
  • mature candidates wishing to return to education who have a desire to change career and enhance their career prospects

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Course Assessment will include written and practical tests, case studies, oral presentations, group exercises and projects.

This qualification also includes 2 Graded Units, there is a single credit in year 1 and a double credit for year 2.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

On Successful completion of the full HND qualification there are opportunities to progress onto a degree course at either Robert Gordon University (RGU), Queen Margaret (QMUC) or Napier University
