The course is broken down into four easy steps- an introduction and three study units.

- Aspergers and social interaction
- Characteristics of autism and providing support.
The objectives for the course are to define autism and Aspergers and identify the possible causes of the condition. It outlines the benefits of early diagnosis and the theory behind the autism spectrum conditions.
The course outlines some of the difficulties people have with this condition and how we can support that person to communicate more easily and explains how people with this condition see the world differently.
The person centre approach is explored and identifies the benefits to those concerned.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course is completed as an e-learning course and student are encouraged to complete the course content and final assessment to gain certification which can be downloaded and/or printed.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Previous knowledge or experience would be of benefit but is not essential.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical requirements- access to a computer with a broadband internet connection.
