Is this course for me?

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills to begin their career in painting and decorating. The course will also introduce students to safe working practises, dealing with information, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and technology.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

4 GCSEs at grades D-G.

What does the course involve?

This course will provide you with a broad overview of the skills required to work in the painting and decorating industry. You will have the opportunity to study:

• Erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms
• Preparing surfaces for decoration
• Applying paint systems by brush and roller
• Applying foundation and plain papers
• Producing specialist decorative finishes

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating.
