The entry requirements are dependent upon the academic programme chosen and are in accordance with either the requirements of the academic course. Students are not recruited solely on their playing ability, and in developing an ‘academy’ we are catering for a range of abilities.

What does the course involve?

The Tennis Academy is a partnership between North Hertfordshire College and Gosling Tennis Academy. It seeks to take talented young players and develop their skills to a higher level, with the aim of them becoming professional players, whilst ensuring that they continue their academic studies at an appropriate level. There is also a unique opportunity for talented school-leavers to study an Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). The College enters a number of competitions and fixtures including British Colleges, British Colleges and Universities Sport (BUCS), County/English Schools, and AASE programmes.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? On completion of the course students may wish to progress onto a higher level programme. Others may seek a career in the tennis industry as professional players or administrators or pursue other avenues of employment within the sport and recreation industry.
