How will I learn?

The course is structured as one full-time module and begins in September at the same time as the School of Art & Design’s Masters courses.

Weeks 1 - 9 are designed to introduce you to a variety of historical and contemporary pattern-cutting techniques, and their relationship to design methods, manufacturing processes and market levels.

Working on your own and in teams you will research, explore and experiment with different techniques, documenting your research methods and 2D and 3D design processes in a sketchbook.

Weeks 10 - 15 focus on the individual project and progression. This will allow you to build a portfolio of work directly tailored to your intended career path and circumstances. You will experiment, create and innovate in your chosen direction.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment takes place at the end of the course and is based entirely on coursework.
