Falling between the Gaps?
This study seeks
to utilise action research methods to investigate the impact and
effectiveness of educational provision with young people who have
experienced custody in England and Wales.
Explaining the Inexplicable?
This study will seek to utilise a mixed methods approach to develop
the effectiveness of Physics and Chemistry across GCE A-level
through to completion of a first degree.

The scholarships will pay UK / EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (currently £13,726 per annum) for up to three years. Applications from non-EU students are welcome, but a successful candidate would be responsible for paying the difference between non-EU and UK / EU fees.
Research within the School of Education is clustered around four broad themes:
- Technology Enhanced Learning and Pedagogy
- Developing Practice and the Curriculum
- Vocational Education, Lifelong Learning and Employability
- Social Change, Equality, Inclusivity and Internationalisation.
Within the Developing practice and the curriculum research group, two special interest groups have been formed, early years education and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics [STEM] education.
Researchers in the broad area of education work in collaboration with a range of scholars from across the academic community in the UK, Europe and further afield.
Research across the groups is funded by various bodies including Local Authorities, Government Departments, the European Union and Research Councils. These groups span a wide range of specialisms and conduct research of internationally recognised quality.

During your research
you will be supported by a dedicated supervision team with
specialist knowledge in your field of activity. You will also have
full access to student support centres, financial advice, careers
advice, disability support, counselling and an accommodation
service.
