Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 3

Who is this course for?

This course will appeal to you if you are interested in learning specialised techniques in beauty therapy which could lead to you running your own business or working in a spa.

What will I do on the course?

The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments is a course that has been specially designed to develop your practical beauty therapy skills such as; body massage, face and body electrotherapy. To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to boost your skills in spray tanning and how to apply self-tan products, micro-dermabrasion treatments and stone therapy massage techniques. Advanced anatomy and physiology are also covered on this course giving you a clear understanding of how the body functions in relation to treatment benefits. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned through this qualification. During this course you will learn how to demonstrate your skills on other learners, models and clients. You will learn to:

• Provide body electro-therapy treatments
• Provide facial electro-therapy treatments
• Provide body massage treatments
• Provide self-tanning
• Apply micro-dermabrasion
• Apply stone therapy massage
• Monitor and maintain health & safety practices in a salon
• Work with colleagues within the beauty related industries
• Client care and communication
• Promote and sell products and services to clients

You will be assessed by:

• Practical assessments observed in the salon
• Assignments or online tests (GOLA)
• E-learning project work
• Research / worksheets / written questions
• Oral questioning

In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.

What qualifications do I need?

• 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English or Maths, OR
• 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C excluding English or Maths, OR
• Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification
• Adequate standard of English and Maths
• Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
• You should have a strong interest in working in the Beauty sector and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?

Learners will be required to purchase a salon uniform and an equipment kit in order for them to successfully participate and complete the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
