You will develop your existing skills and knowledge by producing complex dishes. You will be based in the College's training kitchen with opportunities to work with different ingredients and practise more advanced cooking techniques. You will study a range of topics including supervisory skills in the hospitality industry, practical gastronomy; advanced techniques in producing vegetable and vegetarian dishes; meat dishes, poultry and game dishes; food product development. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.What qualifications do I need?
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English or Maths, OR
- 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C excluding English or Maths, OR
- VRQ Level 2 qualification in Professional Cookery
- Adequate standard of English and Maths
- Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
- You should have a strong interest in working in the catering and hospitality sector and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?
Learners will be required to purchase their own personal equipment. Also a uniform is required to work in the kitchen and restaurant, prices and details will be discussed at interview.
