Who is this course for?

For either course, you need to be working within an accounts environment. Level 2 Apprenticeships will suit you if you are working in roles such as Accounts Assistant, Accounts Clerk, Cashier, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger.

What will I do on the course?

In both levels of Apprenticeship, you will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) modules from the options shown below: Level 2:

• Knowledge - Principles of recording and processing financial transactions, Banking procedures, Basic principles of costing, and Professional ethics

• Competency - Financial documentation, Reconciling cash books, Maintaining petty cash records, Processing ledger transactions, Maintaining journals and control accounts, Working effectively, Providing basic cost and revenue information and Computerised accounting.

What qualifications do I need?

Level 2 - there are no formal however you must like working with numbers and be able to develop good communication skills.

September 2013, however flexible delivery start dates are also available

Where is it held?

As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in an accounting environment. In addition, you will also attend College on a day/evening release basis – these sessions will usually take place at Lichfield or Tamworth campus. Some learning and activities may be completed through our dedicated online portals

How long does the course last?

Level 2 - usual duration 12 months

What does it cost?

The course is fully funded for those individuals who meet the Apprenticeship funding requirements. For those who do not meet these requirements, individual prices can be provided on request

What could I do after completing the course?

Further Education:

• Level 3 Apprenticeship

• Level 4 Apprenticeship.

Employment:

• Accounts Manager

• Senior Payroll Officer

• Accountant.
