If you are studying at Level 1 or 2 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply). If you are studying at Level 3 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged between 19 and 23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

Course Content: Students will be encouraged to study the work of
other artists, craftspeople and designers. During your course
you’ll find out about a whole range of different media, techniques
and processes; from charcoal to computers, you just can’t have
enough ideas when it comes to expressing yourself. The emphasis in
this course is learning by doing, so you’ll be able to create
imaginative personal work.
Visits by artists, other course leaders and past students help to
inform students of areas in which to progress. A substantial amount
of independent study is a requirement of the course. Entry
Qualification: A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A*-C. A minimum of grade
C in Art and Design is a strong requirement of the course. Course
Format: You will learn by long–term assignments and short
experimental exercises, discussions, group work, library and
gallery based research forms the basis for the development of
individual ideas. Progression: You may progress on to A2 with
sufficient grades at A2. The second year is exactly the same, with
25% of the A Level marks awarded for your course work, which
include a 1000-3000 word essay and the externally set assignment
accounts for the other 25%.
After completing this, many students go on to take higher education
in art and design, then aim to join the world of advertising as
graphic designers, illustrators, typographers or become painters,
sculptors, textile designers, fashion designers, photographers to
name just a few.
