Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don't already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).

Course Content: This course will give an introduction and insight in to the beauty industry in order to establish a general knowledge about the industry.

The topics covered are in introduction to manicure, pedicure, make up, nail art, skincare, face painting, health and safety, an introduction to the hair and beauty industry and personal presentation. You will also study alongside your subject qualification a personal, social and development skills qualification and functional skills in ICT, literacy and numeracy. All three elements need to be achieved in order to achieve the foundation qualification. Entry Qualification: Learners will be accepted onto the programme after a successful interview and gaining a minimum of 4 GCSE grades D-G

• Punctual Special Features: Although this is a practically based course there is an element of written work and assignments. This course would suit students who require a lot of support. Course Format: You will be set targets for each of the three semesters on the units you are expected to complete and these will be reviewed with you and your progress monitored.

You will be continually assessed throughout your course on practical skills, written work and assignments. Progression: You may choose to go into employment as a beauty consultant, receptionist in a salon or a beauty sales assistant. Alternatively you may wish to train as a beauty therapist at level 2 should you achieve outstanding results on your foundation programme and functional skills at level 1 in literacy and numeracy.
