Entry Requirements:

Interview required

Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or Nail Technology with good attendance and progress reviews. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, a smart appearance and an interest in beauty. You will be required to successfully pass an interview showing enthusiasm and commitment towards this subject. Individual cases will be considered on their own merits.

Assessment:

There are four types of assessment, demonstration of practical competence, short assignment and projects, oral questioning and written tests. A portfolio of work is built up during the time spent at college.

Progression from this course:

Successful candidates will be able to progress onto various further qualifications at level 3 or a foundation degree. Opportunities exist within beauty salons, health hydros, on cruise liners and overseas. There are also opportunities within photographic studios/model agencies and the field of beauty journalism, although it must be stressed that these are extremely competitive areas.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees).
