First Aid at Work (Refresher)

This two day course is for first aiders in the company who already have the first aid at work certificate and need to renew it (which is every 3 years).

The course content will include revision of the main programme delivered for first aid at work with the emphasis on practice in simulated situations and updating on revised procedures. A practical assessment takes place on the last day.

The revision covers:
- Incident management
- Resuscitation
- Shock
- Bleeding
- Respiratory emergencies
- Unconsciousness
- First aid kits/boxes and legislation
- Fractures, sprains and strains
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning
- Record keeping
- Hygiene

End Qualification:

All persons passing the course will receive an HSE First Aid at Work Training Certificate valid for 3 years.

Entry Requirements:

No interview required

All candidates for these courses must already have a valid first aid at work training certificate at the date of assessment as this is the renewal/refresher course (as of 1st June 2006 you now have 28 days after this date to complete this renewal by, or attendance at a full 3 day course is required).
