Description

This course will prepare you for a City and Guilds qualification in Functional Skills English. You will develop skills in speaking and listening, in reading and in writing and the skills to use them in a range of different contexts.

A level 2 Functional Skills qualification will usually fulfil the requirement for a level 2 English qualification for employment and, in some cases, for entry to university.

End Qualification:

Functional skills in English (at an appropriate level for the learner)

Entry Requirements:

No interview required

No formal qualifications needed. An initial assessment takes place during the first session to determine the level of the qualification to be followed.

- speaking and listening tasks within class
- a reading examination which is normally on-line
- a writing examination which is normally on-line

At entry Level all assessments take place within the taught sessions.

Progression from this course:

You can progress from this to the next level in Functional Skills English or, having achieved a Level 2 Functional Skills English, you can progress to a GCSE English course.
