Assessment:
Assessment is on-going and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. Learners are assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The on-line PDP system allows for the learner to log in and view their progress and targets so they are always aware of their achievement to date. Three annual reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progress.
Progression from this course:
Progression from this course is always
determined by the needs of the student. The learners are encouraged
to discuss personal aspirations so that support can be shaped
towards the student’s individual achievement of a realistic
goal.
An opportunity to discuss progression in detail is usually via the
Progress Evening held in March.
