Spring Sugarflowers - Advanced (ACL)
This product does not have fixed starting dates and/or places.
On this practical and interesting course you will be shown how to make a selection of flowers that naturally occur during the Spring. All aspects of the flower will be included together with the foliage and stem. What you produce in sugar will be a realistic reproduction of the real flower.
You will learn many different techniques and use equipment such as air brushes, dusting techniques and how to assemble groups of individual flowers into bouquets, sprays and other interesting arrangements.
End Qualification:
There is no specific qualification but a college certificate is available if requested by the tutor.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course just an enthusiasm for sugarcraft lots of patience and a steady hand.
Assessment:
Learners will be assessed throughout the course. Progress will be monitored against targets set by the tutor and learner at the commencement of the course. These targets will include a combination of learning outcomes specified by the tutor and the learners own personal aims and objectives. Learner progress towards all of these targets will be reviewed and recorded in an Individual Learning plan, during and at the end of the course.
Progression from this course:
There will be opportunity to progress onto
other similar or associated courses on successful completion. The
possibilities will be discussed by the tutor at an appropriate
stage. Please be sure to ask your tutor.
Some learners have in the past reached a suitable standard to enter
national competitions entering their work into international
competitions at Excel in London and at the NEC in Birmingham.
It may be possible to progress onto an accredited course either
with the College or other local provider. Advice on possible
progression into accredited provision at the College of West Anglia
is outlined in your learner guide.
