Yoga (ACL)
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise and relaxation. Each yoga session is made up of the following elements:
- a short time relaxation and unwind (4-6mins)
- performing yoga postures whilst using the correct breathing techniques (approximately 60mins)
- a final relaxation period (6-10 mins).
Our aims are to relax the mind and body through gently, but progressively, stretching all parts of the body whilst using the correct breathing techniques. This will be carried out in a warm, relaxed and peaceful environment.
All classes are generally made up with learners of mixed abilities, ages and sex.
End Qualification:
There is no specific qualification but a college certificate is available if requested…

Entry Requirements:
No interview required
There are no specific entry requirements. All that is required is to be able to stand unaided.
Assessment:
Learners will be involved in completing a statement outlining their reasons for attending the course. Learners will be assessed on their progress in achieving these objectives. This will take the form of regular tutor observation and monitoring of progress against the original objectives set out for attending the course.
Progression from this course:
There will be opportunity to progress onto
other similar or associated courses on successful completion. The
possibilities will be discussed by the tutor at an appropriate
stage. Please be sure to ask your tutor.
It may be possible to progress onto an accredited course either
with the College or other local provider. Advice on possible
progression into accredited provision at the College of West Anglia
is outlined in your learner guide.

Learners will be required to provide their own comfortable mat to lie on (preferably a yoga mat or similar). However, there will be availability to borrow a mat from your tutor at the start of your course. This mat will need to be handed back in at the end of the session.
