Applied Criminology - MSc part-time

The MSc Applied Criminology is for professionals who have employment roles within Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CRDPs), or for graduates with career interests in social and community aspects of crime. It may also be of interest to probation officers, social workers, the police and those employed in voluntary agencies that interface with the criminal justice system.

It is a multidisciplinary course which focuses on the integration of current criminological theory with the applied work of CRDPs or other criminal justice agencies. There is a strong emphasis on applied research, making it directly relevant to the roles and responsibilities inherent in work within this area.

You will study a broad range of factors relating to criminal behaviour, the concepts and practice of crime reduction policies, issues regarding victims of crime and risks of victimisation, the concept of community, and collaborations between the community agencies working on the different aspects of crime reduction.
