Carlisle - 16 January, 06 February, 06 March 2014; 10:00 - 13:00 hours

You will need to attend one of the induction days prior to commencing your first module; these are running in Lancaster on 18 or 19 September 2013 (you only need to attend one date), 08 January 2014 and 26 March 2014 and in Carlisle on 20 September 2013, 07 January 2014 and 25 March 2014. If you have studied at the University of Cumbria in the past two years the requirement to attend the induction day may be waived.

Intended learning outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Critically reflect on personal knowledge, skills and attributes required for effective clinical supervision
  • Demonstrate a critical appraisal of the concept of clinical supervision
  • Critically analyse the process of clinical supervision
  • Critically review contemporary research that directly informs understanding of and the application of clinical supervision to practice

Contemporary research and the evidence base for practice will be explored and used to inform ways in which practice might be developed within a clinical supervision framework, models of clinical supervision, models of reflection used in clinical supervision, knowledge, skills, attitudes related to clinical supervision, developing a clinical supervision contract and professional and ethical issues.
