Writing an Evidence Based Business Case: Tools and Techniques for Effective Patient and/or Service Improvement

Aims

This practice-related study day is designed to give you the confidence to try new and creative approaches to the writing of an evidence based business case.

Study day philosophy asserts that multi professional learning can take place effectively when those from different professional backgrounds learn together, the content of the learning is common but the application of the learning is contextualised by the individual learner to meet professional, personal and service needs.

Objectives

• Explore the evidence based business case in the context of effective patient and/or service improvement
• Discover key components of the business case  
• Explore methods of evaluation to support the business case
• Learn about the latest evidence based techniques
• Understand how to identify and influence key decision-makers in relation to your business case  
• Engage in debate with like minded individuals to discuss ideas and to problem solve  
• Discuss the challenges and opportunities with working in contemporary health care organizations and the impact on service and patient outcomes
• Develop key skills to lead service improvement and make quality improvements in clinical and health care services through securing the right resources
• Link your learning with the Clinical Leadership Competency Framework
