How long is the course?
1 - 2 years.How will I be assessed?
You are assessed on both theory and practical elements. You will be required to sit an exam after completing the theory units while undertaking a practical assessment on your sports performance and an oral evaluation.What will I study?
A mixture of anatomy and physiology, acquiring movement skills and socio-cultural studies in your AS year.In A2 you can choose between historical studies, comparative studies, exercise and sport physiology, sports psychology and biomechanics.

The A Level in Physical Education combines well with Biology, Business Studies, Geography, Psychology and Sociology.What does the course lead to?
AS/A Level PE is a recognised entry qualification to Higher Education and of particular value to those wishing to pursue a career in areas such as sport science, sports studies, sports coaching and development, sports therapy, sports psychology, teaching, leisure management, sports technology or the Armed Forces.PE is also valuable for medically-related courses such as nursing and physiotherapy.
What can I go on to study?
You could opt to continue your studies at university level on our Foundation Degree in Sport with options in science, coaching or management.A Level PE is a recognised entry qualification to university level study and of particular value to those wishing to pursue a career in sports science, sports studies, sports coaching and development, sports therapy, sports psychology, leisure management, sports technology and the Armed Forces. Entry requirements
You must possess five GCSEs at grade C or above, which must include science and PE (if taken). If you did not take PE, you must have at least a B in biology.
