An introduction to the use of simple basic Open chords and simple strums to accompany popular songs

The content and outcomes of the course will be discussed with you and may be adapted to meet your needs and those of the group. As a guide by the end of the course you should be able to:
use a few chords to accompany several popular songs/melodies.

To give a very basic enjoyable introduction to guitar playing using some simple chords and strums.
Who is the course for and what level is it?
Complete beginners and those who wish to find out how they might fare in taking up the guitar as a musical instrument.
This course is designed for those looking to develop their creativity alongside others in the community.

Through class demonstration and student practice
Simple handouts / instruction sheets will be provided.

What will I need?

You will have an opportunity to maintain an Individual Learning Plan and your tutor will discuss your progress and achievement with you throughout the course.
What will I need for the first session?
An acoustic guitar
A plectrum or pick
A Guitar Tuner (if possible).
Please bring all snacks and lunch for the day. There is a student lounge where hot drinks can be purchased.
