ESOL Speaking and Listening
You will learn the English you need to help you settle into life and work in the UK.
The course includes a citizenship element which enables students showing progression between levels to apply for UK citizenship.
- Listening to instructions,discussions, telephone calls, in shops/at work, to television/radio
- Speaking via various functional situations e.g. in shop/post office, at the doctors/at school, during telephone calls and in conversations/discussions
- Reading various media, such as letters/notes/messages newspapers / magazines instructions
- Writing spelling and punctuation and formal/informal writing, letters/note reports and forms

You will work individually in pairs and in groups in class using a
variety of resources including using IT and the many resources
available on the internet to support your literacy/ English.
You will work towards a UK English Qualification.
This course is open to EU nationals. For details of entry requirements and regulations connected with non-EU nationals, asylum-seekers and spouses please contact the department. All prospective students must have an assessment before they access the course

You will study grammar, speaking and listening, reading and writing at an appropriate level and work towards a UK English Language Qualification. Please note these are NOT international exams and are not recognised in other countries.
