Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People's Workforce
This product does not have fixed starting dates and/or places.
There are three
pathways:
•Early Years pathway – suitable for day care settings practitioners
• Children’s Social Care pathway – suitable for practitioners in residential care
• Learning Development and Support Services pathway – suitable for Connexions
staff and learning mentors
Course content
Learners must gain a minimum of 65 credits to achieve the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. To do this they must achieve 27 credits from the 11 mandatory units. Learners must then select one mandatory pathway which makes up 13-22 credits. Remaining credits must be achieved from the remaining optional units. Core unit subjects:

Entry Requirements
Students must be employed in a range of children and young people's settings covering the age range 0-19 years. Roles might include: • Senior Care Worker • Child-minder • Early Years Practitioner • Nursery Nurse • Education Welfare Officer • Connexions Worker • Learning Mentor • Careers Adviser • Youth and Community Worker • Foster Carer • Speech and Language Therapist
Delivery & Assessment methods
Delivery of knowledge in class or your workplace from your allocated Tutor. Allocation of Assessor who will assess learner in their place of work. Assessor support in building up a portfolio showing evidence of competence through observation, testimony, accounts and underpinning knowledge.
Progression
Completion of Level 3 can lead to promotion to a deputy or manager role and learners have the opportunity to complete other pathways and units for their CPD.
