forChildren and Young People’s Workforce will further develop your
childcare leadership skills. Students must gain a minimum of 65
credits to achieve the Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young
Peoples Workforce. This includes 11 mandatory units (27 credits)
and then selected units from the student’s chosen pathway depending
on their work role: Early Learning & Childcare (5 units-22

A Course for Individuals who wish to develop their career as a
Childcare Practitioner, Nursery Manager, Youth Worker or Community
Development Worker. Entry Criteria Students must have the
following: Work placement in a childcare setting, working in a
responsible role with children and young people aged 0-19 years for
a minimum of 18 hours per week. A relevant Level 2 qualification.
Evidence of a current DBS check. A good level of literacy,
numeracy and ICT skills. Assessment Students are required to build
a portfolio of evidence to include workplace observations,
assignments, projects and reflective accounts. Learning Outcome
Level 3 Diploma for Children & Young People’s Workforce.
Progression after Programme Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation
Degree. A Units (Assessor Awards).
