British Sign Language Level 2
General information
This course builds on the basic sign communication skills through more vocabulary and in-depth knowledge of the word order and structure of sign language. This course is offered in the evening.
You must have obtained or be about to obtain your Level 1 British Sign Language Certificate to enrol on this course.
Course content
Units covered include: receptive skills, productive skills, dialogue/conversation skills.
Teaching and assessment
The first 2 terms are preparation to level 2 and there is no exam, on the 3rd term the 201 exam takes place (receptive skills), on the 4th term the 202 exam (productive skills), on the 5th term the 203 exam ( dialogue/conversation skills).

All our exams are accredited by Signature.
The course is demanding and students are advised to go and practice at their local Deaf Access community centre.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of Stage 1.
Additional course costs
Fees for the exams 201, 202, 203 £126.00
Progression
You can progress onto the British Sign Language Level 3 (after some work experience with deaf people) and as long as you have successfully passed all exams.
Dates and times
New course start date: Tuesday 18th September 2012. Time: 6.30pm-8.30pm. This course is an Introduction to Level 2.
