BTEC Level 3 Diploma 90 in Creative Media Production (Interactive Media)

General information

The 90–Credit Diploma in Creative Media qualification is provided through mandatory and optional units and is equivalent to three traditional AS Levels. This is an exciting diploma course which is designed for students who want to explore their creative ability. You will need bags of commitment and heaps of motivation as deadlines are a key to success and must always be met. The course is hard work and combines a mix of theory and practice but is also a lot of fun and rewarding.

Course content

You will have the opportunity to manage and work on creative projects using a variety of industry standard digital media software, and will be able to create digital content for websites, graphic narratives for comics, characters for 2D animation production, and more. This is a very popular course and to avoid disappointment, early application is recommended.

• Understanding the Creative Media Sector

• Sound in Interactive Media

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs A-C, including English and Maths, BTEC First Diploma (merit or above) or DIDA level 2 (credit or above).

Progression

Successful completion of this BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Creative Media Production (Interactive Media) could mean progression on to employment or on to the Extended Diploma, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Past students have then gone on to further study at HE level in the areas of visual communications such as film, web design, animation, computer gaming, graphic design, digital media, software development and programming.
