HISTORY
The A Level History coures trains you to organise information
and teaches you to be oprn minded and aware that events can be
interpreted in different ways. It also gives you an understanding
of the background to many key issues today and shows you how to
develop an argument both in writing and speech.
At AS level you will study the ending of Tsarist Russia and the eras of Lenin and Stalin, followed by a source based module on Britain 1900-1924. At A2 level you will gain a wider perspective of Russian history over a period of 100 years and will undertake two pieces of coursework on Nazi Germany.

How you will gain the qualification
In the AS year you will sit two examsn each of one and a half hours in May. At A2 you will sit one two hour exam in May and produce two pieces of coursework.
What qualifications you need
A minimum of 6 GCSE at grades A* to C including English
Language. You will also need a B in your chosen subject if this has
been studied at GCSE level.
Entry to A2 is conditional on achieving grade A-E at AS Level.

An A Level in History is highly regarded by universities and employers. A Level History teaches you to research, organise and evaluate a variety of topics and so is relevant to many other disciplines, in the Arts particularly.
