For the full Apprenticeship, learners will complete: ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (QCF), OCR Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management (QCF), Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Functional or Key Skills in Maths, English and ICT (unless exempt). Learners will complete a minimum of 409 guided learning hours, of which 197 must be off-the-job. The typical length of this work based learning programme is 24 – 36 months.

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications. This framework is designed to meet the skills needs of employers of all sizes across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. It will attract new talent into management and will help to up skill the workforce to replace those who leave or retire. Intermediate apprentices will work in job roles such as team/section leaders, floor managers, helpdesk managers and trainee supervisors. Advanced apprentices will work in job roles such as first line, section, assistant or trainee managers, senior supervisors and junior non-commissioned officers (armed forces).
Those undertaking the Higher Apprenticeship will work in job roles such as managers, senior
managers, directors and heads of department.
Course Length: Approximately 24 – 36 months Entry Requirements:Learners who took their GCSE’s more than five years ago and did not gain a C grade or above will need to take a literacy and numeracy test. Those undertaking the Higher Apprenticeship will work in job roles such as managers, senior managers, directors and heads of department.
Core Skills:The Leadership & Management Higher Apprenticeship has been developed to support those working as managers, senior managers, heads of department, directors and those working in a range of other senior management positions.
Assessment:Assessment will be carried out in the workplace by an occupationally competent assessor. Training and assessments are delivered in the workplace with underpinning knowledge delivered on and off the job as required, plus college attendance for the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management. You will present your assessor with evidence to demonstrate competency using a variety of evidence gathering methods.

Training on the Apprenticeships programme is currently funded for apprentices aged 16 - 18 years at the time of enrolment. An employer contribution is required for those aged either 19+ or who have a level 4 or higher qualification.
