Overview

About This Course:

You will study a combination of practical and theoretical units on the Construction Industry. The course has been designed to deliver a National Qualification in Construction. You will also have the opportunity to develop transferable skills which are important if you want to gain employment within the Construction Industry.

What You Need:
  • Two Standard Grades at General Level including English, Mathematics, Science or equivalent, OR
  • Personal experience.
  • You should be interested in Construction and be able to demonstrate this both in the application process and the pre-entry guidance sessions which you will be required to attend.

What You Study:

Some of the subjects you’ll study include: Carpentry and Joinery, Roof Slating and Tiling, Stonemasonry, Bricklaying, Plastering, Fibrous Plastering and Wall and Floor Tiling. You will also study Communication, Numeracy, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

After The Course:

Career

On successful completion of the course you will be in a better position to find employment within the Construction Industry.

Continuing study

There may also be the opportunity to progress onto other National Certificate (NC) and Higher National Certificate (HNC) courses.

One year, starting in August.
