2013/2014 UCAS Points A minimum of 280 GCSEs- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English. Plus one of the following

Teaching and assessment
A variety of teaching methods are employed, and you are encouraged to be an active learner, discussing issues, engaging in tasks and working collaboratively and independently.
Timetabled teaching includes; lectures, seminars and workshops each week, as well as tutorials. In addition you will be expected to engage in 30 - 40 hours self-directed study. Assessment is by:

Each year students will take 60 credits in Education Studies modules and 60 credits in their chosen joint subject.

Joint honours degree students will study choose available modules from 50% of one subject and 50% of another.

Work experience and placements
Our strong links with education providers gives you an opportunity for a placement in a local educational setting. Students are also encouraged to engage in educational voluntary work during non-teaching weeks.
Graduate careers
Joint honours graduates can choose to study initial teacher training in their other subject at school or college level.
Many students follow a career in teaching, though the joint degree also opens up a number of opportunities appropriate for many socially-oriented professions, including; youth and community work, local authority employment, social and educational research and early years settings.
We also offer a range of postgraduate opportunities, including an Education Studies MA|.
