CMI Level 7 Diploma in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring (QCF) (1011).

The Level 7 qualifications in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring are designed for managers and leaders who have the authority and responsibility for developing and implementing a coaching and mentoring strategy across the organisation. The qualifications require managers and leaders to build on their strategic management and leadership skills and to focus on the requirements of embedding the organisation’s strategy.

Diploma

The Level 7 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring (QCF) is designed for supervisors and first line managers. It builds on the learning gained in the Certificate and develops your understanding of coaching and mentoring policies and managing organisational culture and change. A Diploma in Management and Leadership is the benchmark qualification for full CMI membership, taking you another step towards Chartered Manager status.

Learners need to complete all Group A units and any combination of units to a minimum of 7 credits from Group B. Learners need to complete a total of 46 credits to achieve this qualification.

• Unit 7015V1 - Coaching and mentoring within organisational culture (7 credits)
• Unit 7016V1 - Coaching and mentoring policies (6 credits)
• Unit 7017V1 - Organisational coaching and mentoring (6 credits)
• Unit 7018V1 - Strategic impact of coaching and mentoring (6 credits)
• Unit 7002V1 - Developing performance management strategies (7 credits)
• Unit 7020V1 - Leadership coaching and mentoring skills (7 credits)

Group B

• Unit 7019V1 - Embedding coaching and mentoring in the organisation (7 credits)
• Unit 7010V1 - Implementing organisational change strategies (7 credits)
• Unit 6001V1 - Managing organisational culture (7 credits)
• Unit 6004V1 - Leading equality and diversity (7 credits)

Assessment

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments provided by your Approved Centre. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of a Level 7 qualification in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, a number of progression opportunities become available:

• Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
• Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 7 Award to Level 7 Certificate etc)
• Apply to become a Chartered Manager.
