About This Course

This practical, vocational business course will introduce you to the key disciplines of Marketing, Finance, Events Management and Human Resource Management. The programme has been designed to involve you in all of these disciplines to prepare you for your eventual career pathway into higher education or employment. Working in Marketing A Marketing Manager formulates a firm's marketing strategy with the assistance of a marketing or sales team. A Marketing Manager estimates demand and identifies markets for the company's or organisation's products and services. A Marketing Manager and his or her team also set prices with an eye toward maximising profits, increasing market share and keeping customers happy. Working in Human Resource Management A human resources specialist helps companies and other organisations find the most qualified candidates and matches them to the jobs for which they are best suited. They then help their employer retain these employees. Roles in Human Resource Management include employment, recruitment and placement managers. They may also be involved in compensation, benefits and job analysis. Event Management Event managers do everything to ensure that things go smoothly, including choosing locations, hiring caterers, entertainment and other vendors, and arranging accommodation and transportation for attendees. These skills are valuable to all business organisations. Finance Management The finance sector is quite simply huge. Despite upturns, downturns, booms and busts, the finance sector continues to be one of the most sought after employment destinations.
