The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Diploma is credit based and consists of 11 mandatory units The Mandatory Units of study are: · The Entrepreneurial Mindset · Creating a Vision for your Business Plan · The Business Environment · Researching your Market · The Marketing Plan · Financial Modelling and Forecasting · Prepare and Pitching a Business Plan · Leadership and Teamwork · Toolkits for Idea Generation · Managing Personal Finance · Enterprise in the Workplace You will also study: Depending on your maths grade attained, you will also study Functional Skills mathematics. This will be assessed practically and by online tests
Additional NotesWhat else do I need to know? We try to get you out of the classroom to experience the world of work and there will be trips arranged for you. The total cost for the day trips and activities should not be more than £30.00. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a residential event where you will put into practice your team working and problem solving skills. The cost for the residential should be approximately £200. You may be able to take part in fund raising activities to help towards the costs. Payments may be made in instalments. We encourage you to attend these activities and to participate as much as possible. You will also be encouraged to take part in College promotional events such as open evenings. There is a business dress code for you whist you are studying in the School of Business and Professional Studies. You will need to wear black trousers/skirt, black jumper/cardigan, dark shoes and a specified blouse/shirt. You will be directed to the style of shirt/blouse prior to the start of the course. Jeans, hoddies and trainers are not allowed. Materials fees are charged to cover the cost of a USB pen and supporting materials.
Entry CriteriaEnglish at GCSE grade A*-C and 3 other GCSEs at A*-D or equivalent, including Maths, or an appropriate full Level 1 qualification at distinction or merit, including Functional Skills. Your English must be at Level 2 and a good school report.
Progression DetailsFollowing successful completion of this course, learners may progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Business, or into employment.
