What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

To get in ... and get on – you will need A minimum of four GCSEs at grades D – G, English and Maths at grades D – E. or Other equivalent Level 1 qualifications at Merit level or Higher (including English and Maths).

What does the course involve?

You will develop business skills, relevant to today’s fast moving environment through a learning by doing mantra. You will explore the following units and develop a range of skills: The Entrepreneurial Mindset Creating a Vision for your Business Plan The Business Environment Researching your Market The Marketing Plan Financial Modelling and Forecasting Preparing and Pitching a Business Plan Leadership and Teamwork Toolkits for Idea Generation Managing Personal Finances Enterprise in the Workplace Functional skills (English, Maths and ICT) are delivered as an integral part of the course and you will be expected to take an exam in literacy and numeracy. This pioneering qualification is tailored to develop the entrepreneurs of the future. You’ll have opportunities to: - Work on real life business challenges - Explore and prepare to start up your own business - Attend master classes, workshops, micro business surgeries and networking events - Receive coaching from real business owners - Undertake a personal and professional development programme designed to guide you and support your business aspirations In the classroom our courses aren’t just interesting and engaging but are always relevant to real life business situations. We like to practice what we preach. You will be taught by tutors with business knowledge, who are educationally and vocationally qualified. What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? With the level of skills and experience you gain by completing the course, there are plenty of options available, including (but not limited to): • Progress to Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at Level 3 and actually set up and run your own business • Further education (Level 3) • Putting your skills and knowledge into practice in an existing organisation.
