Foundation Apprentices who are already studying at Gloucestershire College can take the next step up the ladder of success by enrolling onto the Advanced Apprenticeship course. Register with the College's Apprentice Unit in order to benefit from this course. You will still be employed with a local motor vehicle business and with the Advanced Apprenticeship; you'll get the chance to build on your knowledge and skills gained on the Foundation Course. You will be expected to complete the NVQ level 3, as well as a technical certificate, also at level 3. As with all apprenticeships, you'll also be required to study your functional skills in IT, communications and number. Functional skills are a range of skills that help you to succeed in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development. Functional skills qualifications are an integral part of your learning experience. It will help you to develop skills in problem solving, teamwork, delivery of presentations and essay writing. You will need personal protective equipment such as overalls and steel toe capped footwear.

You need to have successfully completed your Foundation Apprenticeship course.

The Advanced Apprenticeship teaches you the broad spectrum of motor vehicle engineering. Follow it up with a National Certificate, Higher National Certificate or a management qualification.
