The WBIS higher education framework is tailored to provide academic
recognition of learning undertaken primarily in the workplace. The
workplace itself is utilised as a place of learning and that
learning is further informed by additional relevant or 'integrated'
research/study. As such WBIS represents a vocational approach to
higher education, enabling academic awards to be achieved in
conjunction with professional development in the students area of
work and expertise.
What Subjects will I study?
Learning pathway and award title are negotiated individually and
includes recognition of the students prior learning (both certified
and experiential). Following an audit of existing skills, knowledge
and ability in their vocational context; the students future
learning needs are then identified. Work based projects and WBIS
Taught modules are then identified to provide a means of meeting
those learning needs.
