Music NC SCQF Level 6

Are you a musician who has a passion to develop your career in the music industry? Would you like the opportunity to work with like-minded musicians on a range of musical projects and uncover your creative potential? Whether you're into composing, songwriting, live performing, music production, music business or all of these, then NC Music is the course for you.

You will learn to produce your music with the latest industry standard equipment in our custom-built studios. In addition there are lots of opportunities to promote your original music, take part in competitions and to perform live in the community.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This course is suitable for those who have achieved 3 passes at National 5 (or similar) or have equivalent prior experience. All applicants will be invited to an informal audition to demonstrate performing skills and musical knowledge.

Please note: Students will be required to provide their own headphones.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This course is aimed at students who wish to undertake a year of music study to improve their musicianship skills to meet audition requirements for more advanced music study.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Coursework takes the form of essays, performances, written evidence, presentations and practical projects. There are some end of year examinations in performance and theory.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Successful candidates may progress to further advanced courses such as HND Music or HND Sound Production
