Level 2 Diploma in Progression for Adults

Is this course for me?

This course aims to provide the skills and confidence for those who hope to progress onto a Level 3 college programme or whose employment prospects would be favoured by a period of study and career planning.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

There are no formal entry requirements. All prospective students will need to attend a two-stage interview process. Details on application.

What does the course involve?

All students study the following mandatory units:

Developing Personal Study Skills, Understanding and Using Number, Improving Punctuation and Grammar, Word Processing Software, Investigating a Career and Building a Personal Career Portfolio.

Students will also study a range of ‘optional’ units covering further skills in numeracy, literacy, and developing wider knowledge and competency in areas such as interpersonal communication, problem solving, planning enterprise projects and volunteering. ‘Taster’ units* in science, business, teaching/childcare and social/health care vocational pathways are, subject to numbers, available.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? Students will be guided whilst on the programme into applying for appropriate progression routes including application to Level 3 courses (for example, the Access to Higher Education Diploma).
