About the PG Dip in International Insolvency Law
The PG Dip in International Insolvency Law has been designed to meet the needs of insolvency professionals with little or no experience in the field of international insolvency law. Although the course is primarily aimed at insolvency professionals in developing and emerging market countries, less experienced insolvency professionals from developed countries are also encouraged to register. The course serves as an introduction to international insolvency law, and in addition to the Diploma also attracts 120 credits at Masters level. The programme is supported and endorsed by INSOL International.

Structure of the programme
The programme consists of a single module of 120 credit points.
The module itself contains six study units, each dealing with a
different aspect of international insolvency law. Study units one
to five are compulsory for all registered students. Study Unit Six
is divided into four separate regions and students from designated
countries* will register for the various sub-study units depending
on which country they reside in (students from non-designated
countries will have a choice as to which sub-study unit they wish
to register for).

- Study Unit Two: Regulatory Instruments in International Insolvency Law
- Study Unit Three: Overview of the Legal and Insolvency Systems of the US and UK
- Study Unit Four: International Insolvency Law in the European Union
- Study Unit Five: International Insolvency Law in the United States
- Study Unit Six A:International Insolvency Law in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil and Mexico)
- Study Unit Six B: International Insolvency Law in Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Romania and Russia)
- Study Unit Six C: International Insolvency Law in Africa and the Middle East (Nigeria, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates)
- Study Unit Six D: International Insolvency in Asia and the Pacific Rim (Australia, China and India)
Mode of study
This course is delivered entirely by distance learning via Nottingham Trent University’s virtual learning environment. All programme content is presented online, so regular access to an internet connection is a prerequisite for enrolment on the programme. Recorded lectures on each study unit will be made available to students online (students without access to a broadband Internet connection will have the option of receiving the recorded lectures on DVD). Written lectures are provided online on the NOW website, where students will have access to the prescribed material as well as access to NTU’s electronic library.
