Indicative reading will also be individual to your field of work/study (e.g. reflexology/touch in palliative care, neo-natal care, pregnancy etc).

For participants to be accepted onto this module they must have evidence of prior study in anatomy and physiology.

Students must participate in the formative components of the module in order to successfully pass the module.

HRBG6002 Reflexology: Evidence and Practice (20 credits at level 6)

Intended learning outcomes
  1. Using iterative mapping on the feet, critically analyse a range of reflexology maps.
  2. Appraise the communication pathways between body systems and plan reflexology treatment accordingly.
  3. Critically analyse the use of massage and touch for physiological and psychological effect.
  4. Critically evaluate palpation and observation techniques to assess client health and the impact on subsequent treatment.
  5. Critically appraise body systems involved in pathology and adapt reflexology practice accordingly
