Resources and facilitiesThe module will be delivered through FDL (University intranet) and through face to face tutorials, lectures and workshops. The face to face sessions will be held at the Fusehill Street Campus.

Credit and UCAS requirements Credit: 20 credits Selection criteriaOnline application. Where a candidate fails to meet the entry requirement interviews will be held where equivalence will be discussed. This may take to form of an assessed essay or the applicants’ provision of evidence that they are in a position to benefit from study at postgraduate level.

Course summaryThe main aim of this module is to introduce students to research skills and measures that are commensurate with Level 7 postgraduate study. Students will be introduced to a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Students will be trained in the methods required to design and execute an empirical study including ways to keep the methodology scientific and other research design issues. This module will then lead well into both the Advanced Statistics and Qualitative Methodology modules that take the data into the analysis stage.
