Teaching Introduction (PTLLS Level 3)

Description

The PTLLS teacher training qualification provides an introduction for those who are new to or wish to start teaching or training. It is designed as a qualification which will equip a wide range of teachers and facilitators with a threshold licence to teach.
The qualification does not entitle you to teach in the sector but it is the entry qualification which allows progression to the Certificate in Education.

How long is the course?

This is a part-time, 14-week course. We offer both a daytime and an evening session; all sessions are three hours long.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a number of ongoing theory and practical tasks.

What will I study?

The course will cover the following:

Understanding your own role, responsibilities and boundaries of a teacher
Understanding appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
Demonstrate session planning skills
Understanding how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
Understanding the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping

What does the course lead to?

In order to progress onto the next teacher training programme, teaching hours need to be obtained. Please contact us for more information.

What can I go on to study?

Depending on your job role and number of teaching hours, you can go on to further teacher training and study the Certificate in Education, also available in Mansfield at West Notts College.
