Level 2 Diploma in Hospitality Services (QCF) - Food and Beverage Service

This qualification is aimed at those working in the hospitality industry, based in a restaurant or cafe. This qualification can be taken whilst in the workplace to allow hands on experience as you train. It is a flexible route allowing a wide range of units. Qualification Structure: To acheive the full qualification you will need to achieve credits from a combination of mandatory and optional units. Group A Mandatory Units: * Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment * Contribute to effective teamwork * Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation Group B Optional Units: * Maintain food safety when storing, holding and serving food * Prepare and clear areas for table service * Serve food at the table * Convert a room for dining * Provide a buffet/carvery service * Prepare and clear bar areas * Serve alcoholic and soft drinks * Prepare and serve cocktails * Prepare and serve wines * Prepare cellars and kegs * Prepare and serve dispensed and instant hot drinks Benefits of gaining this qualification: * Obtain a recognised qualification * Up to date skills and knowledge * Proven motivation to succeed within the industry/sector * Increased progression opportunity within the industry Duration: A minimum of six months to complete, although depending on the individual this may be completed within a shorter timescale. No formal entry criteria required only the ability to undertake a level 2 qualification. All apllicants are assessed at interview to ensure correct level of study. Prior qualifications or experience in a relevant job will be taken into consideration.

Progression onto Level 3 related qualifications.
